TATTurnaround Time
TAT is the elapsed time between two defined points in a process - most commonly login to disbursement in lending, or proposal to issuance in insurance. It is measured in calendar or working hours depending on the SLA.
Average TAT hides more than it reveals. Stage-wise ageing, and the gap between median and 90th percentile at each stage, shows where files actually queue.
Most TAT is waiting rather than working: documents pending, verification running in sequence, or an approval nobody has requested yet.
